A country gives land as gift to Citizens whom have a third child
In the opposite direction of many countries urging their citizens to reduce reproduction, one European government plans to reward parents with a third child by giving them a piece of land.
The plan proposed a far-right association in Italy, included in the draft budget for the next year 2019, and its idea of handing over the state for 20 years of agricultural land to fathers, who give birth to a third child between 2019 and 2021, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.
Italian Agriculture Minister Gian Marco Centnaio said: “The Italians are said to have a small number of children, and there must be some way to change that idea.”
In that context, the Ministry was specifically encouraging rural areas to have children, since they still had a large child, compared to urban areas.
According to the “Coldemetti “, the Association of Italian Agricultural Companies, the state owns 1.2 million acres of farmland valued at about 9 billion pounds.
Italy has the lowest birth rate on the continent of Europe, since last year Italy recorded a number of 464 thousand births, a low figure, leaving the country with a large population of older people and a demographic time bomb.
Foreigners who wish to avail themselves of the offer are required to be resident in Italy for at least 10 years.
