Amazon withdraw from the Chinese market due to the power of competition
Amazon, the owner of the world’s largest online retailer, has announced that it will close its Amazon.cn online store starting from July 18.
Amazon asserted that the power of competition in China is the reason but the company remains committed to growth and investment in the Chinese market where this withdrawal will not affect the Amazon brand because it basically owns a very small share of China’s e-commerce market in front of competitors such as Alibaba and JD.com.
She said consumers in China can buy goods from Amazon stores around the world, as for merchants, they can offer their merchandise at Amazon America Britain, Japan and Germany.
Amazon also announced that it continues to provide cloud services in China and is keen to continue selling Kindle reading devices as well as selling services through Amazon International stores.
