Barcelona income goes beyond reasonable and defeats Real Madrid
Barcelona’s income has reached a record high that no club in the world has known in the history of football.
The Catalan club announced revenues of $ 1.05 billion in fiscal year 2017-2018, becoming the first club with annual income exceeding $ 1 billion.
The club revealed that the rise in revenues was due to the sale of Brazilian Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain last year, as well as increased income from television rights from the Champions League.
Neymar became the world’s most expensive footballer when he moved to Paris last year for 222 million euros.
Barcelona’s income is higher than that of Spain’s Real Madrid, which announced earlier that it was getting $ 892 million in the same fiscal year.
The club also announced a record budget of $ 1.105 billion for the season, pending approval by the General Assembly on October’s 20.
