Burger King offers life-long meals for brides if they got pregnant from World Cup stars
The Burger King chain of fast food restaurants in Russia apologized for a promotional advertisement that many saw as “Disgraceful” against Russian women, linking them and the stars of the World Cup in an “indecent manner.”
The announcement includes a Burger King offer that allows Russian women to eat for a lifetime, and 3 million Russian rubles ($ 47,000) if they become pregnant from one of the football stars participating in the World Cup.
The Burger King chain published the promo on its social networking pages last Tuesday, blotting it out after a wave of sharp criticism and derision.
The company withdrew its promotional campaign, removed all its advertising material, apologized to the public and admitted that the ad was “lacking in taste”.
