Cadillac stops the development of diesel engines and is geared to focus on electric motors
Steve Carlisle, President of Cadillac, announced that all of the company’s diesel engine development plans have been halted and the focus is on electric motors. Mr. Steve said that the rapid changes in the automotive market forced them to take this step quickly.
The announcement came at the inauguration ceremony of the new XT4, which was scheduled to have a diesel class to be launched in 2020, and this will not happen with the new changes in Cadillac’s strategy. Cadillac since 2015, with the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal, predicted the near end of diesel engines in the automotive sector in general.
