France Football announces the date of the 2018 Golden Ball prize and tow new prizes
France Football magazine has announced that it will award the 63rd Golden Ball award in its history to the world’s best player on December 3 in Paris.
In addition to the Golden Ball for the best player, the most prestigious individual award, the magazine has produced two awards this year – the Golden Ball for the Best female Player and the Cuba Prize for Under-21 player which named after the former french player “Raymond Cuba”.
The best player will be voted by journalists and The winner of the Cuba prize will be chosen by players who have already won the Golden Ball, including Dennis Le Mans, Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Jean-Pierre Baban, Mark van Basten, Zinedine Zidane, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 19-year-old Frenchman Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappe, who emerged in the World Cup and scored a goal for his country in the final of the World Cup Russia 2018 against Croatia (4-2), one of the leading candidates for the award.
The names of the candidates for the three categories will be announced on Monday, October 8, in parallel with the French television channel L’Equipe, and the official websites and social networking accounts of France Football.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast on the third of December on L’Equipe and on France Football website in more than 120 countries.
The Golden Ball Award and the FIFA Player of the Year award were combined in the 2010-2015 time period, before each side was awarded a separate prize from 2016.
