Nvidia acquires Mellanox for 6.9 billion dollars



The world’s leading chipset and semiconductor manufacturer, NVIDIA, has announced its agreement to acquire Mellanox Chip technology company for 6.9 billion US dollars and at a rate of $125 in cash for each share in the company. To overcome this on its main competitor Intel as well as other known company Microsoft.


Headquartered in San Jose, California, Mellanox is a distinctive company in the design and development of smart chips for various high-potential hardware and equipment, which has made Microsoft want to acquire it to support its servers and develop the best technologies for its cloud services, while Intel and Nvidia have been struggling to promote competition in this market, which imposes absolute control.


It is worth mentioning that the company’s market value is approximately 5.9 billion dollars, but the big competition to acquire it made Nvidia pay 6.9 billion dollars in cash to win and it is expected that all the formalities to complete the acquisition by the end of the year after the completion of all legal matters.
