Scientists reveal the basic limit of human capacity!
A new study found that all humans have certain limits to their endurance, where they can burn calories at a rate of only 2.5 times the primary metabolic rate during rest.
The researchers found that besides limiting the person’s basic metabolic rate, the body begins to consume its own tissues to compensate for the calorie deficit.
Eating more food will not enhance your performance, because the metabolic limit depends on the digestive system’s ability to grind food, according to the study.
“There is a maximum number of calories that our intestines can absorb daily,” said Professor of evolutionary anthropology, Herman Bontzer, of the University of Duke in North Carolina.
The results indicate that activities involving different muscle groups and organ systems are combined with the same energy consumption instruments.
The researchers compiled measurements of average energy expenditure and metabolic rate for human endurance, including marathon, swimming and Arctic trekking, as well as pregnancy.
After analysing the urine samples collected during the first and final phase of a race across the United States, the researchers found that 20 weeks after the consecutive marathon, athletes were burning less than 600 calories a day than I thought earlier, based on the number of kilometres acquired.

The results challenge the idea suggested by former researchers that human endurance is linked to the ability to regulate body temperature. The maximum sustainable energy expenditure found among athletes was found to be slightly higher than the metabolic rates experienced by women during pregnancy.
