Versace goes for sale during hours
The sale of Versace Italian fashion house “within hours” may be announced, the Corriere dell’Sera newspaper reported on Monday, citing unnamed sources.
The newspaper added that Donatella Versace, the sister of the late founder of the house, Gianni, called for a meeting of workers at the house on Tuesday, the day on which the deal may be officially announced.
Donatella is the technical director and vice president of the Milan-based group.
Versace declined to comment on the report, while the newspaper said the value of the sale could amount to two billion dollars.
The newspaper also reported rumors that the potential buyer may be the American group “Michael Kors” American fashion, or jewelry company “Tiffany & Co.”.
The two companies could not be reached for comment.
