Voting begins in the presidential elections in Cameroon
Polling stations opened their doors to voters in Cameroon to vote in the presidential election, with about eight voters, including President Paul Biya, who has been in office for 36 years.
Radio France International said on Sunday that the Cameroonian authorities had announced measures to ensure the security of the voting process, especially in English-speaking areas. He pointed out that about 6 million voters cast their votes in this round, The outgoing president has been in a seven-year term.
The separatists had vowed to prevent elections in English-speaking areas, with a population of 5 million or about one-fifth of Cameroon’s population.
