Rapper Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian gave Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni a pair of athletic shoes as a gift.
The Ugandan president was keen to give back the gift, giving the pair Ugandan names during a meeting aimed at promoting tourism in East Africa.
Sports shoes donated to the Ugandan president, from the private company Boyset, signed by the rapper and his wife.
According to the Ugandan presidential office, the Ugandan president named West as Kaniseji, a common name among Museveni’s ethnic Banyankuri group, and Kim Kardashian was given the name Kamigisha.
The statement noted that West expressed his happiness that he was in Uganda, and described it as his second country.
West has pledged to build a tourism college in Uganda on a world-wide basis, as a basis for tourism not only in Uganda, but in the East African region.
