ZF unveils first external car airbag
ZF has unveiled the first external car airbags, which have been developed for 10 years. Selling pillows for car companies will start two years from now.
The pillows use special sensors and radars to determine the structure of the vehicle in a 3d design. If sensors are sensing the approach of another vehicle, it will open only 100 ml. According to ZF, these cushions reduce the collision to 30%, and the infection rate is 10% – 20%.
According to ZF, the placement of external airbags opens the field for automobile companies due to the change in the order of seats inside the car for future adoption on fully self-driving systems.
