French auction house Drouot reported that the gun that killed the famous Dutch artist, Gogh sold on Wednesday (June 19th) at the auction in Paris in the amount of 162.5 thousand euros.
The price of the pistol was first assessed at 40 – 60 euros, according to a statement published by Drouot on its website.
A local farmer found the pistol in 1960, 70 years after the artist’s suicide, and handed the gun over to her current father, the site said.
